Reducing RV Humidity

No one likes experiencing humidity outside, let alone inside a confined space. Taking your RV out for a camping trip is fun, but the moisture in the air can leave you feeling uncomfortably hot inside your camper. The resulting condensation can create even more problems for you and your rig. Read on for tips to reduce your RV’s humidity.

Get a Dehumidifier

One easy way to decrease humidity levels in your RV is to invest in a dehumidifier. This device will help draw in warm air currents into its coils. The condensation from the warm air remains inside the dehumidifier and cooler, drier air is released back into the camper.

This is a worthwhile investment if condensation is a big problem inside your rig. While it may be a pain to store a larger model, there are still plenty of smaller options that are compact enough to comfortably store inside your camper.

Try Moisture Absorbers

Moisture absorbers are another way to combat humidity inside your camper. Some popular options use crystals that work to absorb the excess moisture in the air. The crystals harden and eventually begin to dissolve as a liquid drips into the bottom compartment. These are compact and an easy way to remove moisture from the air inside your rig.

Increase Ventilation

Ventilation is another option for reducing condensation. Some easy ways to ventilate your camper is to crack a window open, cook with lids on pans, cook outside as much as you can, and open and turn on the rooftop fan/vents when cooking or taking a shower since these activities can result in more humidity.
